Judging Change for 2012
Recently,the membership passed a motion to relocate the field music judge up into the stands. This decision was arrived at for the following reasons:

It had become a serious issue that the field music judge could not "sample" all band's equitably. Size of band and speed of the drill impacted on the music judge's ability to move throughout the band to listen to and credit all segments of the music.

Field positioning for any judge can vary from judge to judge as each tries to hear all elements of the band. A judge at one show might be in a great position for Band "A" and be out of position for Band "B" thus skewing the impression that drives the score. This could be just the opposite for the next judge at the next show. This kind of inconsistency, while understandable, is nonetheless undesirable.

There was concern among directors as to the field music judge's knowledge and suitability of commentary relative to the percussion section.

There will now be 2 judges evaluating Ensemble Music so that you will continue to receive two "reads." Their scores will be added together and averaged just as we did when we had the field music judge.

If at the conclusion of the 2012 seasons directors are dissatisfied with this modification, we will stand prepared to make whatever adjustments/changes they deem will best serve their bands.

WBA classifications are as follows and are total numbers of performers on the field. If you need your classification changed on the WBA web site, please advise Kathy Whitcomb at kathyw4657@aol.com You can not change your class, it must be done from the office.

How do I sign up for a show
In order to sign up for WBA shows you must first be entered in our data base. If you have participate in a WBA show you are in the data base. Your log in is your email address. Contact me for your password if you do not remember it. From there you can manage your unit profile and select shows.
