Judging History
I have been adjudicating marching percussion events continuously since 1988, covering marching bands, winter percussion, parade units, as well as a few seasons as a Drum Corps International Judge.

Teaching History
I was a percussion arranger and technician for the Independence HS band from 1979-1988, a tenure highlighted by two MBA Percussion titles. I was also a drum instructor and arranger for the San Jose State University Marching Band for 3 years, and Percussion Caption Head for the Vanguard Cadets for one year. Since then, I have also assisted with the coordination of the Santa Clara Vanguard Alumni Corps percussion section.

Performing History
I performed for seven years in Drum Corps (Knight Raiders, Freelancers, and SCV), 3 years on xylophone and 4 years as a snare drummer. I also played xylophone and snare for 2 years in HS. More recently, I performed with the Vanguard Alumni corps at DCI in 2002, but have basically been retired since then. I'd like to express my appreciation for the many teachers who influenced my musical education over the years, including Dan Smith, Allan Kristensen, Don Silva, Curt Moore and Ralph Hardimon.

Music Education & degrees
I have studied some music theory in college, but do not possess a music degree.
